Pyinsa rasa logo
Pyinsa Rasa is an arts collective I’ve co-funded dedicated to local arts promotion and development, based in Yangon. Born out of collaborations between artists as well as cultural and media sector professionals, we work on creative events and arts education programs as a contribution to both Myanmar's and Yangon's Arts and Culture development.
In 2018, we created a pop-up art space in one of Yangon's most iconic heritage building, the Secretariat. For six months, we proposed a rich programming of high-quality exhibitions, film screenings, concerts and talks dedicated to the Myanmar art scene.
The name itself is a representation of the organization: PYINSA (meaning 5 in Pali) represents the five cultural organizations that form this collective, RASA stands for the emotional or aesthetic impression of a work of art.
Considering these elements, the idea was then to create a logo that represents the simplicity of the message and emphasizes the Burmese focus of the organization by using the Burmese lettering as a key part of the logo.
Among the key concepts was also to be able to adapt the logo to the different disciplines: from music to photography, film, visual arts and literature. To serve this purpose, the background square came in a various range of colors symbolizing each of these disciplines.
