On the occasion of the 55th anniversary of cultural relations between France and Myanmar, the Institut Français de Birmanie (IFB) and the Government of Yangon Region presented a 3-day citywide festival intended for Yangon’s inhabitants. Following the parade of two giant puppets, more than a hundred French and Myanmar artists presented performances and live shows in key locations of the city such as Wardan Jetty, Dala, Mahabandoola Park, Myaynigone Flyover, and People’s Park. More than 100 000 people attended the festival which ended with the first professional firework show in front of the Shwedagon in 20 years.
I was in charge of creating the whole visual identity of the festival.
The logo, key visual and its collatorals had to be easily understandable for the general public but also embody the core idea of the event - the giant puppets of course - but also the vision for the city: to re position the inhabitants of Yangon at the heart of the city and create a better living space for them.
