Bodhi Nava - logo.jpg

Bodhi Nava is a café and boutique hostel which opened in Yangon in February 2018.

Nested inside a small street between Shwedagon Pagoda (Yangon's most iconic Buddhist temple) and Kandawgyi Park, the place offers a unique escape from Yangon's buzzing city-life mixed with a range of distinctively created healthy Thai, Burmese and Western inspired dishes.

The Bodhi Nava crew was looking for a logo which embodies the simplicity as well as exceptional design of the space while playing around with the meaning of its name (Bodhi coming from Bodhi Tree - important symbol in Buddhism - and Nava, meaning number 9 in Pali.

The centre of the logo is a simplified Bodhi Tree, embodying the heart and the warmth of the place.

I then used vintage inspirations for the display of the name in English and Burmese - showing their will to welcome both local and international crowds.
